With the sixth and final episode of Red Dwarf XI going online this morning, and airing on Dave next week, you could be forgiven for starting to feel a bit bereft of any more new Red Dwarf in your life. Fortunately, the official Red Dwarf XI game for Android and iOS is here to help you out!

Red Dwarf XI is a mobile-exclusive game that offers players the chance to work their way through a succession of Series XI-themed adventures. The first episode, Twentica, is playable now - and not only features a pretty faithful recreation of the episode's plot and script, but actually adds in additional material from writer Doug Naylor that fills in gaps in the story!

The game's developer, GameDigits, have been hard at work with a succession of updates - in the first instance, responding to fan comments and making tweaks and alterations to help improve the playability. But as well as that, they're beavering away on a further five episodes' worth of additional content - each one relating to a different episode of Series XI. The Samsara update will be released next week, and updates for the remaining episodes will then continue right up until Christmas.

And once you've paid the very reasonable upfront cost of the game, you'll be able to play these additional episodes as they're released, entirely free - although you'll have to complete each episode before you can unlock the next one. Alternatively, if you're willing to pay an in-app purchase fee, you can sneakily jump ahead.

So get cracking with completing the Twentica episode now - and don't forget to compare your scores with your Facebook friends - and we'll bring you further news on the release of the remaining episodes as soon as we have it...
