Ready For Take-Off
Check out the latest Starbug photo!
8 July, 2016
We'll keep this brief, since they say - after all - that a photo tells a thousand words. Which is handy for us, because it saves us having to write a thousand words. Anyway, when it comes to new Red Dwarf, we know you all just want to see the latest photos as soon as possible, without us blabbering on and getting in the way.
So, as debuted on Twitter last week, here's the latest behind-the-scenes photo from Red Dwarf XI!

As you can see, the new pic gives a fresh angle on the previously-glimpsed brand new Starbug model - and with a fresh angle comes plenty of fresh opportunity to pore over the detail and compare it to previous versions. But what might not be immediately apparent is that there's a bit more to the picture, too - another entirely new model, making up part of Red Dwarf's landing bay. It's a welcome return to miniature for this part of the ship - the cargo bay seen housing Blue Midget in Series X was a cleverly-disguised Shepperton studio floor, while Back to Earth relied, of course, on CGI for the non-bunkroom decks.
But seeing Starbug (and hey, this time the legs are intact!) on a lovely red piece of hand-crafted Red Dwarf interior... well, it doesn't half give you a lovely, classic Red Dwarf kind of feel, doesn't it? And we can tell you that that's a feeling that's going to carry right the way through the entirety of the eleventh series...
For more sneak peeks and reveals, don't forget to keep your eye on @RedDwarfHQ and @Join_Dave on a weekly basis - along with your trusty reddwarf.co.uk, of course. And we can tell you now that you might just want to keep an eye on Twitter later today for something very tasty...
Red Dwarf XI lands on Dave exclusively this September!
