Music
Accompanying the pumping opening theme this season was a much faster-cut set of images from the show (around ten more shots than previously in the same amount of screen-time) - complete with a red-tinted widescreen effect.
With the themes for the show already in place, incidental music was Howard Goodall's primary concern. A ghostly, lilting theme was created to accompany the Holoship, while the Terminator-esque addition to The Inquisitor got the adrenaline pumping. Quarantine, meanwhile, was able to get really creepy.
The show's closing titles were also given a make-over in line with the new style of a show that was including less and less of the ship that gave it its title. The video effects department created a starfield that zoomed towards the camera.
Pre-existing music included a firm favourite - 'Copacabama'. On original transmission, a version by none other than James Last was used, although copyright allowance saw later versions using an alternative, similar-sounding, version. Some library music can also be heard, not least during the fights of Terrorform and the Holoship faux-corny climax.
