Music
It wouldn't be a Red Dwarf series without a Howard Goodall score, and the maestro was back once again to create original compositions for Red Dwarf XI.
Once again, the new pieces were mixed with classic cues from series past - aside from scoring transitions between scenes, the music was particularly effective in action sequences such as the escape from the station in Give and Take.
But undoubtedly the most striking piece of music created for the series was the "Rimmer Barbershop Quartet" in Officer Rimmer - featuring Howard once again dubbing the voice of Rimmer (as in Series VII) with a rewritten version of the 1950s classic "Mr Sandman".
Shortly after the series aired, Howard released a 40-minute long selection of the used and unused score from Series XI for digital download, under the title Krysis, What Krysis?
Lyrics
Rimmer Barbershop Quartet
Rimm Rimm Rimmety Rimm Rimm
Rimm Rimm Rimmety Rimm
Rimm Rimm Rimmety Rimm Rimm
Rimm Rimm Rimmety Rimm
Mr Rimmer
We are what we seem
The cutest quartet that you've ever seen
We have four mouths
A duet times two
This Barbershop Quartet is singing for you
